The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) was established in November of 1936 upon the approval of Commonwealth Act No. 181. It is tasked to build and maintain modern, effective, and efficient investigative service and research agency for the purpose of implementing fully principal functions provided under R.A. No. 157, as amended.
The agency envisions itself as a world-class investigative institution wherein dynamism, respect and committment to the high ideals of law and order prevail.
Its mission is to provide quality investigative and forensic services to the people through advanced methods and equipment i the pursuit of truth and justice.
In Davao, the agency’s office is located along J.P. Laurel Avenue (in front of Victoria Plaza Mall). It is headed by Regionla Director Edward A. Villarta.
